PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely prevent a stent attached on a balloon from displacing and falling down while effectively using advantageousness of a monorail type balloon catheter.
SOLUTION: A catheter system is equipped with a sheath 3 through which the catheter 2, provided with the balloon 1 on which a stent 18 is mounted at the distal end side, is inserted. A guide wire inserting path 9 through which a guide wire 8 is inserted from the distal end side to the halfway part of the proximal end side is formed in the catheter 2. An opening 20 for guiding out the guide wire for guiding out the guide wire 8 guided out from the catheter 2 to the lateral side of the sheath 3 is arranged and a guiding out direction guide mechanism 12 for guiding out the guide wire 8 to the lateral side of the sheath 3 through the opening 20 for guiding out the guide wire is arranged in the proximal end side of the sheath 3.
