The delivery system includes a housing that is secured to the skin of the patient and that can be temporarily worn. The carrier assembly coupled to the microneedle array is received in the housing in proximity to the storage energy device. The stored energy device may be designed to store a predetermined amount of potential energy, which potential energy is greater than or substantially greater than the energy required to release the energy.
