An ophthalmic irrigation device (1) comprises a bracket (6) mountable upon a microscope (7) and a fluid supply conduit (3) having an end tip (4) for supplying irrigation fluid to a patient's eye (9). The bracket (6) includes attachment means (13; 23, 24) to receive the fluid supply conduit (3) and to provide a predetermined and fixed relationship of the end tip (4) to the bracket (6). The device (1) requires no adjustment, and ensures that irrigation liquid is consistently supplied to the appropriate position on the patient's eye; the supply of irrigation liquid can be under the control of the surgeon.
