Disclosed is a pharmaceutical composition for oral administration comprising a therapeutically effective amount of 5-azacytidine, wherein the composition is a non-enteric-coated immediate-release tablet, which contains a drug core that comprises 5-azacytidine, and further contains a coating of the drug core which is non-enteric, wherein the tablet is obtained by applying the coating to the drug core using solvent comprising ethanol.
