A system and method for determination of strength of pulse at the radial artery of a subject has been disclosed. The system includes pulse sensing means to sense pulse in the radial artery and generate signals corresponding to rate of change of impedance. These signals are de-noised provided to deriving means which derives an impedance waveform from the de-noised signals. This impedance waveform includes three sub waves and processing means is used to identify at least six major deflection points corresponding to the sub waves. Further, ratio computing means is used to compute predetermined ratios based on co-ordinates of the deflection points. This ratio are matched with rules containing reference ratios pre-stored in a rule repository and the strength of pulse corresponding to the matched ratio is extracted using extraction means and is notified using notification means.
