A method for preparing polymer microparticles with a reduced initial burst, and the polymer microparticles prepared thereby, the method including: contacting polymer microparticles with an alcohol aqueous solution, the polymer microparticles prepared thereby, and use for drug delivery of the polymer microparticles.본 발명은 초기 약물 방출이 감소된 고분자 미립자의 제조방법 및 그 방법에 의해 제조된 고분자 미립자에 관한 것으로 보다 상세하게는 고분자 미립자의 제조방법에 있어서, 고분자 미립자에 알콜 수용액으로 처리하는 단계를 포함하는 초기 방출(initial burst)이 감소된 약물 봉입 고분자 미립자의 제조방법, 상기 방법에 의해서 제조된 고분자 미립자 및 이를 포함하는 약물 전달용 조성물에 관한 것이다. 본 발명은 초기 방출율을 감소시킨 고분자 미립자를 제조하는 새로운 방법을 제공한다. 본 발명의 방법은 약물의 과도한 방출로 인한 여러 가지 부작용을 막을 수 있는 새로운 제형의 약물을 제공하는 목적으로 유용하게 사용할 수 있다.
