An antibody or fragment according to claim 1 or 2, wherein said antibody or fragment competitively inhibits in vivo binding of a murine anti-CD22 antibody to human CD22. An anti-CD22 antibody or antibody fragment according to claim 1 or 2, wherein said antibody or specific site or variant binds CD22 with an affinity (K) of at least 10M. 5. A CD22 antibody or antibody fragment according to claim 1 or 2, wherein said antibody or specific site or variant binds CD22 with an affinity (K) of at least 10 M. 6.
