1. A method for producing an apomictic soybean plant that has a higher percentage of conversion into pods and more pods per plant than commercial soybean varieties, and the method comprises the steps of: a. selection of a plurality of double-seed seeds b. growing soy plants from these seeds; c. selection of soybean plants having a conversion percentage of more than about 51% and at least 60 pods per plant, and an apomictic soybean plant is obtained. 2. The method of claim 1, wherein plants having a conversion percentage of more than about 60% are selected. The method of claim 2, wherein plants are selected having at least 100 pods per plant. The method of claim 1, further comprising the steps of: a. crossing the selected apomictic soybean plant as a male plant with another soybean plant as a female plant b. collecting seeds from a female soybean plant c. growing said seeds from a female soybean plant; and d. selection of soybean plants having a conversion percentage of more than about 51% and at least 60 pods per plant. 5. The method according to claim 4, in which plants are selected having a conversion percentage of more than about 60%. The method according to claim 5, in which plants are selected having at least 100 pods per plant. The method of claim 1, further comprising the steps of: a. crossing the selected apomictic soybean plant as a male plant with another soybean plant as a female plant b. collecting seeds from a female soybean plant c. growing said seeds from a female soybean plant; and d. selection of soybean plants having a conversion percentage of more than about 51% and at least 60 pods per plant.1.
