An absorbent article comprising an absorbent core, which comprises a primary water- absorbing agent that can serve as a acquisition and preferably temporarily storage material for fluids, such as urine, and that has a CRC of up to 20 g/g and that comprises a compound that includes a constitutional unit derived from polyalkyleneglycol and that is other than an unsaturated monomer and that comprises a polyvalent metal salt.
