PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such a capsule for delivering a bifidobacterium into the large intestine, which quickly elutes the bifidobacterium enclosed in the hard capsule in the large intestine without being eluted in the stomach and the small intestine, and inhibits water intrusion into the hard capsule in the stomach and the small intestine to avoid deactivation of the bifidobacterium, while having sufficient mechanical strength without using any animal protein, needing no coating for increasing the mechanical strength, and also can be produced at an advantageous cost with a suppressed coating level； and to provide a method for producing the capsule.SOLUTION: The capsule for delivering the bifidobacterium into the large intestine contains the bifidobacterium in the hard capsule with gelatin or a cellulose derivative as a base material, has a band seal at the joint part of the hard capsule and has a chitosan-containing layer and an enteric base material on the surface of the hard capsule in this order. The method for producing the capsule is also provided.【課題】ハードカプセルに内包されるビフィズス菌が胃及び小腸で溶出することなく、大腸で速やかに溶出し、かつ、胃及び小腸でのハードカプセル内への水分の侵入を抑え、ビフィズス菌の失活を抑えることができるビフィズス菌大腸デリバリーカプセルであって、動物性タンパク質を使用せずに十分な強度を有し、強度を増大させるためのコーティングが不要であり、更にコーティング量を抑え、有利な製造コストで製造できるビフィズス菌大腸デリバリーカプセル及びその製造方法の提供。【解決手段】ゼラチン又はセルロース誘導体を基材とするハードカプセル内にビフィズス菌を含み、前記カプセルの嵌合部にバンドシールを有し、前記カプセルの表面に、キトサン含有層と、腸溶性基材含有層とを、この順に有してなるビフィズス菌大腸デリバリーカプセル及びその製造方法である。【選択図】なし
