Described herein are neurosteroids and analogues thereof and derivatives thereof, including, but not limited to, allopregnanolone, allopregnanolone analogues, and derivitaves thereof that can be used for treatment of a neuropsychiatric disorder and/or symptom thereof. Also described herein are pharmaceutical formulations containing an effective amount of a neurosteroids and analogues thereof and derivatives thereof, where the effective amount can be effective for treating a neuropsychiatric disorder and/or symptom thereof. Also described herein are methods of treating a neuropsychiatric disorder and/or a symptom thereof in a subject in need thereof.L'invention concerne des neurostéroïdes et analogues et dérivés de ceux-ci, comprenant, entre autres, l'alloprégnanolone, les analogues d'alloprégnanolone, et leurs dérivés qui peuvent être utilisés pour le traitement d'un trouble neuropsychiatrique et/ou de l'un de ses symptômes.
