The present invention provides a cyclic depsipeptide compound of formula (I), wherein the stereochemical configuration of at least one carbon atom having the group Cy1, Cy2, R1, R2, R3, R4, Ra and Rb is of natural origin. Provides a compound that is inverted as compared to the cyclic depsipeptide PF1022A. The present invention also provides a composition comprising a compound that is effective against parasites that damage animals. The compounds and compositions can be used to combat parasites in or on mammals and birds. The present invention also provides improved methods for eradicating, controlling and preventing parasite infestations of birds and mammals.
