An apparatus includes a shaft, an expandable dilator, and a wire assembly. The expandable dilator is located at the distal end of the shaft. The expandable dilator is operable to transition between a non-expanded configuration and an expanded configuration. The wire assembly is disposed about an exterior of the expandable dilator. The proximal end of the wire assembly is proximal to the proximal end of the expandable dilator. The distal end of the wire assembly is distal to the distal end of the dilator.
