PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the clotting of a body fluid by causing the accumulation of the body fluid or a chemical in a pressure sensor for measuring the internal pressure of an external circulation circuit.
SOLUTION: The pressure sensor for the external circulation circuit includes: (1) a casing having a reference surface not to be deformed by the internal pressure of the external circulation circuit, a deformation surface arranged and spaced from the reference surface and to be deformed by the internal pressure of the external circulation circuit, a connection surface forming an internally closed liquid-tight space by connecting the reference surface and the deformation surface and not to be deformed by the internal pressure of the external circulation circuit, and a liquid flow inlet and a liquid flow outlet arranged on the side surface of the connection surface and a means arranged outside of the casing so as to measure the internal pressure of the casing by directly or indirectly detecting the amount of deformation of the deformation surface. A liquid-tightly connected flow passage is arranged so as to allow the liquid to be introduced to the casing to flow in along the inner circumference of the side surface of the connection surface.
