The invention relates to an antibacterial agent comprising, as active product, a haemostatic contact tissue with an acid pH combined with povidone iodine, the haemostatic contact tissue being regenerated or non-regenerated oxidized cellulose. It also relates to a device used for active protection of incision margins and incorporating such an antibacterial agent. The applicant has now demonstrated surprisingly that the combination of regenerated or non-regenerated oxidized cellulose with povidone iodine provided a degree of bacterial inhibition superior to simple use of regenerated or non-regenerated oxidized cellulose on its own or of povidone iodine on its own. This therefore represents a synergistic effect, which yields a novel agent that is both a very powerful haemostatic and also very powerful antibacterial substance.Linvention concerne un agent antibactérien comportant comme produit actif un tissu hémostatique de contact ayant un pH acide combiné à de la polyvidone iodée, le tissu hémostatique de contact étant de la cellulose oxydée régénérée ou non régénérée. Elle concerne également un dispositif de protection actif des berges dincision intégrant un tel un agent antibactérien. Le demandeur a maintenant mis en évidence de manière surprenante que la combinaison de cellulose oxydée régénérée ou non régénérée avec de la polyvidone iodée donnait une inhibition bactérienne supérieure à la simple utilisation de la cellulose oxydée régénérée ou non régénérée isolée ou de la polyvidone iodée isolée. Il sagit donc dun effet synergique qui aboutit à la constitution dun nouvel agent à la fois hémostatique et antibactérien très puissant.
