PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accommodate to both cases of using a conventional-type seedling-raising seedling mat and using a highly-dense seedling-raising seedling mat in which seedlings are highly densely raised more than the conventional-type seedling-raising seedling mat.SOLUTION: A rice planter 1 according to the present invention includes a planting claw 30 for raking a seedling for one rice plant from a seedling mat placed on a seedling tray 29 and planting it in a field, and is configured to be able to change the number of times of transverse feed, as the number of times when the planting claw 30 rakes a seedling from the seedling mat, while the seedling tray 29 is transversely fed to any of left/right moving end. The number of times of the transverse feed in a case of using a conventional-type seedling-raising seedling mat is differentiated from that in the case of using a highly-dense seedling-raising seedling mat in which seedlings are highly densely raised more than the conventional-type seedling-raising seedling mat.
