PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for improving positional accuracy and medical effectiveness of surgical treatment when a first detecting device, for periodically generating positional data about an internal target region in the body of a patient, does not operate.SOLUTION: The apparatus for compensating for breathing and other motion of the patient during treatment includes: the first detecting device for periodically generating positional data about the internal target region in the body of a patient a second detecting device for continuously generating positional data about one or more external sensors indicating external motion of the body of the patient when the first detecting device does not operate and a processor that generates the correspondence between the position of the internal target region and the position of the external sensor and determines the position of the internal target region to be treated when the first detecting device does not operates for compensation of movement of the patient.
