PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing rod and a rod body having viscosity, less prone to be twisted, and capable of reducing the weight.SOLUTION: The fishing rod comprises a solid rod body, where a blank 10 of the rod body includes a fiber-reinforced resin solid body 30 having the full length of the blank 10, a cylindrical main layer 31 formed of sheet-like prepreg formed outside the full length of the solid body 30, and a cross tape layer 32 formed outside the full length of the main layer 31, where two pieces of tape-like prepreg are spirally wound, at some intervals apart from each other and wound so as to cross each other.
