The present invention pertains to a method for estimating the overall loss of an animal feed, the method utilising an animal feed to animal manure ratio (r), a specific ingredient A present in or added to animal feed, and the proportion of ingredient A in the animal feed (pAf), the method comprises the steps of: a) determining the proportion of ingredient A in the manure from the animal (pAm), the ingredient A is degradable inside the animal, b) calculating the animal feed to animal manure ratio (r), c) determining the proportion of ingredient A in the animal feed (pAf), d) estimating the overall loss of an animal feed (s) based on the animal feed to animal manure ratio (r), the proportion of ingredient A in the animal feed (pAf) and the determination in step a).La présente invention concerne un procédé destimation des pertes globales en un aliment pour animaux, ledit procédé utilisant le rapport aliment pour animaux sur fumier (r), un ingrédient spécifique A présent dans laliment pour animaux ou ajouté à ce dernier et la proportion dingrédient A dans laliment pour animaux (pAf).
