A self service surgical retractor comprises a main rod (1) a locking sleeve (7) a locking operation rod (11) a locking sleeve (15) for a band folding device the band folding device (17) and a hook plate (22). The locking sleeve (7) is sheathed on the lower part of the main rod (1) to form a dovetail groove. The locking operation rod (11) is screwed on the main rod (1) with threads. The locking sleeve (15) for the band folding device is screwed on the upper part of the main rod (1) and fixedly locks an inserting rod (18) of the band folding device (17) on the upper end of the main rod (1). The band folding device (17) is connected with the hook plate (22) by a traction band or a traction rope (21). This invention has advantages that the structure is simple the production and use are convenient and the cost is low.
