PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide lightweight planting equipment applicable even to the existing building and readily controlling soil and water content in order to enable planting on an artificial foundation without further requiring much labor, time and cost for laying and removal. SOLUTION: This planting equipment is characterized by forming a planar water holding layer on a laying surface of planting mats, continuously laying a plurality of the planting mats over the water holding layer, composing the planting mats of a mat frame provided with recessed form cells having an opening near the bottom and connectedly installing mutual cells with connecting ribs and forming the connecting ribs at a lower level than the tops of sidewalls of the mat frame. The planting mats are preferably continuously laid so that a spatial part for arranging water supply pipes of a required passage in a space surrounded by the connecting ribs, cell sides and the water holding layer.
