PURPOSE: A system and a method for detecting interstitial lung diseases at a CT image are provided to automatically detect and quantify the initial interstitial lung disease using the CT image. CONSTITUTION: A lung dividing unit(10) divides and extracts a lung area from a CT image. A texture feature point extracting unit(20) extracts one or more texture features in an interest region. A classifying unit(30) classifies corresponding pixel into positivity or negativity with regard to interstitial lung diseases. A detection volume calculating unit(40) calculates the volume of all areas which are classified into positivity. A classification score calculating unit(50) calculates a volume ratio of a positive area to the whole area of a lung.본 발명의 바람직한 일실시예의 간질성 폐질환 검출 시스템 및 그 방법에 따르면, 초기 간질성 폐질환을 CT 영상을 이용하여 자동으로 검출하고 정량화할 수 있는 CAD 시스템 및 방법을 제공할 수 있다. 또한 본 발명에 따르면 대용량의 CT 영상을 이용한 처리 속도를 개선할 수 있는 CAD 시스템 및 방법을 제공할 수도 있다.본 발명의 바람직한 일실시예의 간질성 폐질환 검출 시스템은 CT 영상으로부터 폐 영역만을 분할하여 추출하고, 추출된 폐의 총 체적을 산출하는 폐 분할부； 상기 폐 영역의 각 픽셀을 중심으로 미리 설정된 크기의 관심 영역을 위치시키고, 상기 관심 영역 내에서 하나 이상의 텍스처 특징점(Texture Feature)을 추출하는 특징점 추출부； 상기 하나 이상의 텍스처 특징점을 입력받아 간질성 폐질환에 대해 해당 픽셀의 양성 또는 음성 여부를 분류하는 분류부； 상기 분류부에서 양성으로 분류된 모든 픽셀을 카운팅하여 양성으로 분류된 모든 영역의 체적을 산출하는 검출 체적 산출부； 및 상기 폐의 총 체적에 대한 상기 양성으로 분류된 영역의 체적의 비를 산출하는 분류 스코어 산출부；를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
