An agricultural soil tilling assembly e.g. a tractor-drawn hoe has a chassis with a drawbar. The chassis has front wheels and rear wheels bridging the gap between the soil tiling tools and a soil roller (4) mounted on a hydraulic lift/lower mechanism. The roller compresses topsoil after passage of the hoe. The roller lift/lower mechanism is coupled to an on-board computer that triggers repositioning of the roller in accordance with pre-recorded data.
