A surgical clip applier (100) for performing a surgical procedure, the surgical clip applier comprising: a housing (104)； at least one handle (106) pivotally connected to the housing； a channel assembly (108) extending distally with respect to the housing； a jaw assembly that includes a pair of jaws (120) extending from one end of the channel assembly, opposite the housing, the jaw assembly being adapted to accommodate a staple of a plurality of staples loaded into the stapler applicator and being operable to carry out the formation of the clip in response to the movement of the at least one handle； and a dissector rod (150) that includes a proximal end portion (152a) supported at least partially slidably in the housing, and a distal end portion (152b) extending from the housing and along a length of the channel assembly, the distal end portion being supported in the channel assembly, in which the dissector bar can be operated from the housing and includes a proximal position in which a distal end of the dissector bar is disposed in a proximal position of a more distal end of the jaw assembly, and at least one distal position in which the distal end of the dissector rod projects beyond the most distal end of the jaw assembly； and wherein the dissector bar includes a drive control (154) supported near the proximal end thereof, the drive control (154) having a neck portion (154b) extending through a slot (104a ) formed in the housing, characterized in that at least one side wall of the groove of the housing includes a deformable elastic layer (105； 205； 305) which extends along a length thereof, wherein said elastic layer deformable narrows a width of the groove in order to have a dimension in width that is less than a dimension in transverse width of the neck portion (154b) of the drive knob extending through the groove, whereby the dissector bar (150) is held fixed against movements by means of a frictional force generated by the deformable elastic layer (105； 205；
