Devices and methods useful in surgical processes that require structural attachment to bone such as spinal vertebrae. More specifically, an improved bone implant having a band there through for the purpose of correcting and/or preventing curvature of the spine. The bone implant comprising a staple inserted into the vertebra, a bone screw inserted therethrough and a locking screw inserted such that a tether is secured and aligned with a cut out in one or both of the staple and the screw. The staple may further have domed upper and lower surfaces such that it aligns with the bone margin.
