The present invention relates to a composition for preventing or treating nerve disorder comprising one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of luteolin 5-glucoside and salts thereof. The compounds selected from the group consisting of luteolin 5-glucoside and salts thereof have no cytotoxicity to nerve cells, and inhibit damage of nerve cells caused by peroxide and formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in nerve cells, thereby being safely used in a pharmaceutical or food composition for preventing or treating nerve disorder.본 발명은 루테올린 5-글루코사이드(luteolin 5-glucoside) 및 이의 염으로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택된 1종 이상의 화합물을 유효성분으로 포함하는 신경 질환의 예방 또는 치료용 조성물에 관한 것으로, 상기 루테올린 5-글루코사이드(luteolin 5-glucoside) 및 이의 염으로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택된 1종 이상의 화합물은 신경세포에 대한 세포 독성이 없으며, 과산화수소에 의한 신경세포 손상 및 신경세포 내 활성산소종(ROS) 생성을 억제시키는 효과를 가지므로, 신경 질환의 예방 또는 치료를 위한 약학적 또는 식품 조성물에 안전하게 사용할 수 있다.
