An implement operating apparatus has a drive frame supported on drive wheels,eachpivotally mounted about a vertical wheel pivot axis. A steering controlselectively pivotseach drive wheel. A motor is mounted on the drive frame and connected througha drivecontrol operative to rotate the drive wheels in a selected one of first andseconddirections. An implement rests on the ground and when the drive frame ismaneuvered toan implement loading position with respect to the implement, the implement isconnectable to the drive frame and movable to an operating position supportedby thedrive frame. When the implement is in the operating position, the steering anddrivecontrols are operative to move and steer the drive frame and implement along aselectedone of a first travel path and a second travel path oriented generallyperpendicular to thefirst travel path
