PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate excellent display images even when displaying fluorescent images as moving images.
SOLUTION: An arithmetic operation is performed to three-color image signal R, G and B using an estimated matrix to generate estimated spectral data (q1-q59). Pseudo fluorescence intensity is calculated on the basis of estimated spectral data for a specific fluorescence wavelength band being the wavelength band including 480 nm, which is the center wavelength of fluorescence, and the fluorescent images are generated on the basis of the pseudo fluorescence intensity and superimposed on pseudo black-and-white ordinary images to generate fluorescent superimposed images. Also, pseudo three-color image signals Rs, Gs and Bs are obtained from the estimated spectral data of a semi-ordinary wavelength band being the wavelength band not including the specific fluorescent wavelength band, and pseudo color ordinary image signals are generated using the pseudo three-color image signals Rs, Gs and Bs.
