An interface structure 700 for detachably interfacing a surgical robot arm to a surgical instrument. The interface structure 700 comprising a main body 704 and a drive transfer element 706 comprising: a first portion being releasably engageable with the surgical robot arm; and a second portion 736 being releasably engageable with the surgical instrument. The drive transfer element 706 moves relative to the main body 704 enabling transfer of drive between the surgical robot arm and the surgical instrument. The main body may define a linear path along which the drive transfer element 706 moves. The drive element 706 may comprise a movable material attachable to at least one of the first and second portions, the movable material being movable to accommodate the movement of the drive transfer element 706 relative to the main body whilst permitting the maintenance of a sterile barrier between the surgical robot arm and the surgical instrument and where the interface structure 700 may further comprise a roller for winding the movable material thereon. A surgical drape may extend from the interface structure 700. Also a robotic surgical system comprising an interface structure 700.
