A sterilizable package 10 comprises a generally planar polymer layer 14 and a paper member 16 joined together by a marginal seal 18 extending around a portion of a perimeter of the package 10 and an adhesive region foldable against the polymer layer to form a pouch 12, a first indicator 30, 32 located on the package 10 and exterior of the pouch 12, and a second indicator 34, 36 located on the package 10 and interior of the pouch 12. The second indicator 34, 36 includes a multi-parameter sterilization chemical indicium responsive to a steam sterilization process such that the second indicator 34, 36 undergoes a visual change to a desired ending colour when the package 10 is subjected to complete multi-parameter sterilization conditions using steam as a sterilizing medium. The sterilizable package 10 is configured such that only the first indicator 30, 32 will undergo a visual change to the desired ending colour when the package 10 is subjected to incomplete steam sterilization conditions.
