PURPOSE: A health promoting food composition is provided to increase effects of cholesterol improvement, suppression of blood glucose increase after eating, smooth defecation activity, and suppression and prevention of obesity. CONSTITUTION: A health promoting food composition comprises 70-90 weight% of natural product extract, 0.3-0.5 weight% of chitosan, 2.5-14.0 weight% of fruit concentrate, 0.05-0.08 weight% of hydrated citric acid, and 9.0-10.5 weight% of other additives. The natural product extract is manufactured by a hot water extraction from a mixture of Saururus chinensis (Lour.) Baill., dandelion, Helianthus tuberosus, Houttuynia cordata, Artemisia princeps, Artemisia capillaris, pumpkin, and radish under a 100-105 deg. C temperature condition for 12-15 hours in an extraction tank. The natural product extract comprises a Garcinia cambogia extract, a matte extract, inulin, plume fruit juice concentrate, indigestible dextrin, polydextrose, and L-carnitine.
