<;P>;PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging system capable of shortening a photographing time and preventing occurrence of fold-back artifact. <;P>;SOLUTION: A positioning image 201 to be a double oblique surface is set; pre-scan and radial scan are executed; a phase encoding direction is determined so that a visual field in the phase encoding direction becomes minimum, and the number of phase encodes to be minimum is determined while maintaining a prescribed space resolution. Regular photography is performed by using the phase encoding direction and the number of phase encodings. A rectangular visual field is set with the phase encoding direction as a direction in which a width of a photography object becomes minimum and the number of phase encodes is determined to perform the regular photography, so that the photographing time can be shortened and the occurrence of the fold-back artifact can be prevented. <;P>;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
