This invention provides an oil-in-water type external preparation for skin, this preparation having spinnability and rich felling, and the stability with time of the spinnability is excellent, the moistening ability to skin is good, and without stickiness when drying. The oil-in-water type external preparation for skin having spinnability is characterized in containing the following ingredients:(a) polyacrylic acid or its metallic salt, 0.01 to 3.0 mass%, (b) alkyl modified carboxyvinyl polymer, 0.01 to 1.0 mass%, (c) polyethylene glycol having average molecular weight of 1000 or more to 50000 or less, 1.0 to 10.0 mass%, and (d) oil, 0.5 to 20.0 mass%.本發明提供一種水中油型皮膚外用劑,其係具有牽絲性以及濃稠感,且牽絲性之經時安定性優異,對肌膚之融入良好,並在乾燥時不發黏者。本發明之具有牽絲性的水中油型皮膚外用劑,其特徵係調配有下述成分:(a)0.01至3.0質量%之聚丙烯酸或其金屬鹽;(b)0.01至1.0質量%之烷基改質羧乙烯聚合物;(c)1.0至10.0質量%之平均分子量為1000以上50000以下的聚乙二醇;以及(d)0.5至20.0質量%之油分。
