PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a chair type massage machine to be arranged close to a wall surface.SOLUTION: A chair type massage machine 1 includes: a seat part 2 a base frame 7 for supporting the seat part 2 to be movable forward and backward on a floor surface a backrest part 3 arranged to be reclinably operated in the rear part of the seat part 2 and a massage part for performing a massage operation on a user seated on the seat part 2. In the chair type massage machine 1, the backrest part 3 is configured to allow the lower part of the backrest part 3 to move forward and also to allow the upper part to move downward in the backward reclining operation of the backrest part 3, and to allow the lower part of the backrest part 3 to move backward and also to allow the upper part to move upward in the forward reclining operation of the backrest part 3.
