PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorptive article including an absorptive element comprising an assembly of poorly absorbable filaments, which prevents a liquid from leaking when excessive liquid is supplied to an edge part of the absorptive element.SOLUTION: An upper layer absorber 56A comprises an assembly of poorly absorbable filaments 52 obtained by opening tows of cellulose ester filaments and having an absorption of 1.0 time or less the self-weight, and a liquid permeable sheet 40 provided on a surface on the side of a top sheet 30 in the filament assembly 52. The liquid permeable sheet 40 and the filament assembly 52 are bonded to each other with a hot-melt adhesive for integration. In the filament assembly 52, the filaments are extended backward and forward along the top sheet 30. Both ends of the filaments are spaced by a distance y inward from the peripheral edge of the lower layer absorber 56B. Embossed concaves F are formed from a use-surface side of the top sheet 30 so as to reach the liquid permeable sheet 40 and the filament assembly 52 in the upper layer absorber 56A.
