A Indole derivatives are provided selected from bis(indolyl)methane derivatives of Formula I and isoindoline derivatives of Formula II, having target specific activity against multi drug resistant gram positive bacteria MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) and process for manufacture thereof. Advantageously, an antimicrobial formulation/ composition comprising said indole derivatives as actives effective against MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) is also provided that offers a target specific antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria.
