The present invention relates to the preparation of an enriched andequilibrated plant extract from Solanumglaucophyllum with an enriched content of 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 glycosidesand flavonols, particularly quercetin glycosides. Thepresent invention particularly describes a method for preparation of such aplant extract either in industrial or in laboratory scale.The present invention furthermore describes the use of such a plant extract orsimilar (synthetic) compositions for the preventionand treatment of bone mass reduction-related diseases, such as Osteopenia orOsteoporosis, for the prevention and treatment ofTibial Dyschondroplasia, preferably in poultry, for the treatment of milkfever, and as a dietary supplement for human orveterinary use.
