Fish oil (100, 310, 410) is thickenedusing a thickening agent (300), such asone or both of silica and wax (400, 500) dispersedin the fish oil to thereby facilitate ease ofdelivery of the fish oil to an animal. The fish oiland the thickening agent form a viscous liquidblend that functions as a delivery medium ofnutrients naturally present in the fish oil. Thethickening agent is inert to the animal andchemically inert to the fish oil so that the naturallypresent nutrients of the fish oil are not substantiallydegraded by the thickening agent. Theviscous liquid blend may also be used as acarrier liquid to deliver an added dietarysupplement (110, 200, 320, 420, 510) to the animal.
