PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rod for efficiently capturing small animals such as insects compared with direct capture of the small animals with a catching net, and safely usable without applying damage to the human body.SOLUTION: The capturing rod A comprises a long hollow pipe 1 having an end face 1a1 formed by perpendicularly cutting an end of a tip end 1a and having at least one window 1b opened in the hollow pipe and a mobile rod 2 having a length at least nearly equal to the length of the hollow pipe 1 and inserted into the hollow pipe 1 in a longitudinally reciprocable manner.
