A hair styling composition of non-aerosol type comprises 0.5-20 weight% of Cocamidopropyl beta of the chemical formula 1, 0.5-20 weight% setting agent, 0.1-03 weight% of ethanol, and remaining amount of water. The setting agent is vinylpyrrolidone/methacrylamide/vinylimidazole copolymer, polyvinylpyrrolidone, polyvinylpyrrolidone/vinylacetate copolymer, methacryloylethylbetaine/ acrylate copolymer, polyvinylalcohol or the polyethyleneglycol.
