PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plant body freshness retaining system capable of retaining the freshness of a plant body, like a cut flower, for a long time in a water absorption environment different from the original water absorption environment.SOLUTION: A plant body freshness retaining system 1 includes: a plant body water absorption environment change part 3 a plant body freshness retaining liquid storage space 5 capable of storing a water-containing plant body freshness retaining liquid 4 and plant body freshness retaining liquid storage instruments 6 including the storage space. The plant body freshness retaining liquid storage instruments include a plug body part 8 capable of holding the plant body water absorption environment change part and an impervious partition wall part 7 having a function which can prevent the leakage of the plant body freshness retaining liquid disposed near the outside boundary region of the storage space. The plug body part is made of a sponge material having a waterproof property and elasticity.
