A fishing rod assembly comprising a fishing rod (2, 12) and afishing reel (3, 13) having a foot (4, 14) which serves to fastenthe fishing reel to the fishing rod, characterized in that boththe foot ( 4, 14) of the fishing reel (3, 13) and the fishing rod(2, 12) have respective recesses (18, 23) for jointly receiving atleast one detachable fastening means (6, 25) for locating thefishing reel in position on the fishing rod.
