PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fundus camera favorably performing fine adjustment of a photographing position.
SOLUTION: The fundus camera includes: a photographing section disposed with a fundus observation optical system and a fundus photography optical system a moving mechanism section relatively moving the photographing section with respect to a subjects eye a display control section processing a signal from an image pickup element and displaying an observation image on a monitor an alignment detection optical system for detecting a misalignment of the photographing section with respect to the subjects eye and a moving control section outputting a drive signal to the moving mechanism section based on the detection result of the misalignment. When a focus lens is in an OD position, the moving control section sets an alignment tolerance to a first alignment tolerance, when the focus lens is moved from the OD position to a positive direction, sets it to a second alignment tolerance which is wider than the first tolerance, based on the moving information of the focus lens and actuates the moving mechanism section to enter within the alignment tolerance set with the misalignment.
