Specifically disclosed is a water-in-oil-type emulsion sunscreen cosmetic which comprises (a) 0.01 to 10% by mass of a water-soluble polymer and (b) 0.01 to 30% by mass of an ultraviolet ray absorber, and which has a viscosity of 10,000 mPa s (as measured on a B-type viscometer at 30'C) or less and contains an aqueous phase in an amount of 45% by mass or less.
