Embodiments include methods for producing an impatiens plant containing in its genetic material one or more genes or transgenes and transgenic impatiens plants and plant parts produced by those methods. Embodiments also relate to impatiens varieties, breeding varieties, plant parts, and cells derived from New Guinea Impatiens SAKIMP044, methods for producing other impatiens lines or plant parts derived from New Guinea Impatiens SAKIMP044, and the impatiens plants, varieties, and their parts derived from use of those methods.
