An optical array system for performing pupil tracking using retro-reflectivity includes an LED array an image sensor and a processor. The LED array includes at least one on-axis LED and at least one off-axis LED, for illuminating pupils of a user within an active region. The camera is arranged for capturing images of the pupils illuminated by the LED array.
