A respiratory mask for delivering an inhalation gas to the airways of a patient is disclosed. The respiratory mask comprises a mask body (10) defining a cavity and being adapted to fit about the mouth and nose of the patient such that the inhalation gas can be inhaled by the patient from the cavity, an inlet port (13) that is engageable with a supply of inhalation gas and in communication with the cavity, and one or more sealing components (20, 22, 24) extending from the peripheral edge of the mask body (10) and defining a contact surface that contacts the face of the patient during use. The contact surface extends both inwardly and outwardly from at least a portion of the peripheral edge of the mask body (10).
