The surface lure comprises a longitudinally elongated convex curved plate 1, metal load 2, device for fixing a fishing line in the front portion of the lure, and at least one hook 10 at the tail portion of the lure. The metal load 2 is longitudinally elongated, flattened in the vertical plane, with the upper edge being narrowed and rectilinear or concave in form in the middle. Two rods 3 projecting upwardly in the vertical plane above the upper edge of the load 2, and are threaded through holes in the plate 1 which is located on the top of the load 2. The side portions of the longitudinally elongated and curved plate 1 are symmetrically bent downward relative to its longitudinal axis. The plate 1 is attached to the load such that it can rotate about its longitudinal axis in both directions. At least one hook at the tail portion of the lure is attached to the load.
