Provided are a system and a method for customizing a purchased hearing device at a point of sales. The system for customizing the purchased hearing device at a point of sales comprises: a test hearing device having a plurality of biometric sensors arranged in a sensor array being in contact with a user to detect data indicating an auditory brainstem response； and a user interface. The system uses the collected data to create a customized hearing algorithm.
