The present invention relates to a drug delivery device. The drug delivery device includes a housing, a needle, a drug delivery mechanism, and an actuator. The needle is movable from a retracted position where the needle is fully received within the housing to an extended position where the needle protrudes from the housing. The drug delivery mechanism includes a reservoir and a dispensing member, first and second biasing members, and first and second locking members, respectively, disposed within the housing. The actuator is movable from the initial position to the intermediate position with respect to the housing so as to exert a force on the first lock member and bias the first lock member from the locked state to the unlocked state. The first biasing member moves the needle from the retracted position to the extended position. The actuator is movable from the intermediate position to the second position with respect to the housing so as to exert a force on the second lock member and bias the second lock member from the locked state to the unlocked state.
